Your dogs

A dog is registered once and stays in your account. Every entry afterwards is a matter of ticking it in a list, and the application works out from its birth date which classes it is old enough for.

So it is worth doing carefully, once, in a quiet moment — and not at eleven at night on the closing day.

Adding a dog

Open my dogs and press add dog.

name, father, mother, birth date, microchip and owner are required. The rest can be filled in later, but most of it will be printed in the catalog, so it is better done now.

birth date is the one to get exactly right. Next to it the application shows the age it has worked out — 9 months, 7 days — and that age is what decides which classes you will be offered when you enter. A date typed wrongly does not produce an error message; it produces a dog in the wrong class, which is discovered at the ring.

breed is chosen from the official list, with its FCI group and number. sex and colour are printed in the catalog.

The photo, on the left, is yours to add or leave out.

Pedigree and titles

pedigree takes the number of the pedigree. If it has been applied for but not yet issued, tick pedigree pending release instead: the entry will be accepted and the number can be filled in later.

tatoo is the alternative to the microchip for dogs that carry one.

breeder is chosen from the breeders known to the system.

The four title fields — young champion title release date and its protocol, champion title release date and its protocol — record the titles the dog already holds. They are what the entry screen looks for when a champion class is involved, so a dog whose title is not recorded here will be asked for it later.

The documents entries require

Documents are not uploaded from here. They are asked for at the moment you enter a show, because what is required depends on the show: typically the pedigree, the vaccination record, a champion title and a working certificate.

The entry screen shows the four of them beside each dog with a green tick or a red cross, and a missing one can be uploaded on the spot. The next chapter shows how.

You can also get ahead of it: uploading a vaccination record the week before means the entry itself is three clicks.

Changing or removing a dog

Open the dog from my dogs, change what needs changing and save.

If the dog is already entered in a show and something on the document changes — the microchip, the pedigree number — tell the organizer as well. Catalogs and ring lists are produced at a certain moment and printed; a correction made afterwards does not reprint them.

The bin icon on the card deletes the dog. Use it for a dog entered by mistake, not for one with a history behind it: the results of past shows belong to it.
