Manager Manual
This manual is for those who manage DogShow: the office that organizes the shows and the administrator of the instance. In DogShow the two roles overlap, so you will find both the day-to-day work and the system configuration here.
The chapters follow the order in which you meet things: first you prepare the system, then you build the show, then the entries arrive, and finally you run the show day.
What this manual covers
- First access and roles — Registering, getting administrator rights and securing the account.
- Base records — Organizations, judges and event types: the records every show is built on.
- Creating a show — From creating the show to publishing it in the calendar.
- Events, classes and rings — The events that make up a show, with their classes, breeds and rings.
- Assignments — Assigning breeds to judges and judges to rings, even after entries close.
- Entries and payments — Following incoming entries, recording payments and closing entries.
- Cancelling entries and credit — Cancelling a paid entry, what happens to the money, and how the exhibitor spends it again.
- Changing a start time — Moving a match after the dogs have been assigned to the rings, and what shifts with it.
- Documents and catalog — Composing the catalog and generating the show documents.
- Show day — The devices needed on the ground, the accounts that drive them and what each role sees.
- Ring device access — Creating ring accounts, pairing tablets and managing sessions during the show.
- Judging, titles and Best in Show — From entering judgments in the ring to awarding Best in Show.
- Practice data — Generating an invented show to rehearse on, without touching your real data.
